It’s hardly surprising if you want to download the videos you find on YouTube. The world is becoming ever more global and it’s common to find yourself wanting to watch the latest music video and viral sensation only to be out of luck because you’ve run out of mobile data and don’t have a Wi-Fi connection. The good news is that it’s easier than ever to share and watch your favorite videos once you know how to download YouTube videos with a YouTube catcher on Mac. We’re here to tell you how to do just that.
Airy will save videos into the Downloads folder by default. Find the file by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in Airy. The download destination can be changed through the preferences – for both every download and an individual download.
You can also clear the app of downloads, both active and pending, through the menu.
Airy is my personal choice and I highly encourage every Mac user looking to download a YouTube catcher to use it! Given that you may have different needs than me though, here are some alternatives to Airy that may be a better fit for you.
TubeNinja is presented on a user-friendly website that has nothing that looks like an ad trap, at least to us. With all the websites TubeNinja supports (including some websites for the adult audience), several languages, and the ability to improve functionality through a bookmarklet, not to mention being able to add “dl” to the URL of a website to quickly download content, TubeNinja is a highly recommended YouTube catcher downloader.
ClipConverter.cc works as you would expect. You give it a URL and it gives you the video hosted at the URL as a download in a range of formats, both in video and audio. Users can edit the video by choosing a certain start and end time, and the service supports YouTube, Vimeo, and more. There’s also a browser extension available for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Finally, ClipConverter.cc has a filter that prevents users from downloading copyrighted material.
Video DownloadHelper is a browser extension that can be found on your tools menu and offers a load of different format options for downloads when on a website playing a supported video. The icon for the app animates to let you know when a video is compatible and you can run the YouTube downloader catcher.
If I was to choose the app that had everything I needed then it would be Airy, but you should try different options out and see what works best for you. Don’t forget to check back with us for further updates!
